3 arrested after Wilmette police pursuit ends outside home

Wilmette police say officers were chasing a vehicle whose occupants had robbed a woman early Tuesday morning; one of those people allegedly opened fire during the pursuit. A resident woke up to find the activity right outside his door, and started recording.

This incident happened outside a Sheridan road complex in North Shore suburb Wilmette Tuesday morning.

WGN Channel 9 news is reporting about the chase and subsequent neighbor who recorded the police activity and got a visit from WGN TV-9 to talk about the story.

An armed robber trio shot at police during the pursuit, Wilmette and Kenilworth police became involved during the chase and were able to apprehend the suspects after a chase and subsequent crash.

Officers responded to a call at approximately 5:15am in the 400 block of Central avenue, where a 63-year old citizen had been reported as being robbed at gunpoint. The alleged victim was able to provide a description of the vehicle and alleged perpetrators to police who were able to locate the vehicle and occupants. Subsequently, a brief chase ensued.
