Torrential downpours came along with the thunderstorms Sunday evening as concertgoers were prepared to attend The North Shore catering event at Ravinia, headlined by a second straight appearance by musical star Sting, formerly of the band The Police.
The rain came in hard and brutal, as concertgoers were forced to seek shelter from the elements in tents and buildings along the Ravinia property.
The rain eventually relented and revelers made their way back outside to the law areas and the concert went on as originally planned. The people who bought Pavillion tickets to the sold out show were of course covered at all times from the inclement weather, as were the on stage performers of course.
Moderate rain, with a high of 77 and low of 58 degrees. Sunny in the morning, patchy rain nearby during the afternoon, light rain in the evening, clear overnight.
