Gold Coast Bar fight over World Cup ends with 4 hurt, including 2 Chicago Police Officers.

WGN Channel 9 & CBS-2 are reporting that after the match between Argentina and Mexico, some fans became unruly, with fight starting inside The Gold Coast Social bar and restaurant spilled outside.

CBS News reported that the fight moved to the street, where video showed one person throwing a stanchion at the bar window.

Chicago Police responded to reports about multiple people fighting in the street around 5:45 p.m., according to a news release.

Two police officers were injured while responding to the fight, the release said. One officer had a face injury but declined medical attention. Another officer’s face was scraped and bruised. The officer was taken to a nearby hospital in good condition.

Two others were injured in the fight, and both were taken to a hospital in good condition, The Chicago Sun Times and ABC 7 reported.

Five people of interest were questioned by police, the release said. No charges have been filed.

The owner of the bar told The Chicago Sun Times that the business was closed for the rest of the night out of respect for the officers who were hurt.
