Niles Man Shot and Killed at Niles Nightclub

Niles police are investigating a shooting that left a Niles man dead and a Northbrook man in custody.

The shooting happened around 1am Sunday morning, as Niles police were called to the scene after reports of a man on the ground with a gunshot wound.

The nightclub, Miraj, is located at 8100 N. Milwaukee, at the intersection of Milwaukee and Dempster in Niles.

The victim was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronnounced dead from one or more gunshots.

According to the Niles police statement, the shooter and victim knew each other and there is no danger to the public as the alleged shooter is in Niles police custody.

UPDATE: A patron of the night club says the shooting was over a woman.
