Family of Elk Grove Woman Who Died Parasailing in FL Files Suit

Supraja Alaparthi, 33, was killed after being dragged across the water and slamming into a bridge last June while strapped into a parasail.

Her husband, Srinivasrao Alaparthi told reporters at a news conference announcing the filing of this second lawsuit, “I can’t help but think that if the people we trusted ... had done their
jobs, my wife would still be with us today," he said. “We trusted these companies, but they let us down in the worst possible way.”

The Alaparthi family was in Florida on vacation and went parasailing, where Supraja, her son & nephew went on a 3-person parasail, which then crashed into a bridge, killing Supraja and injuring the two children.
