Former NFL player Sergio Brown charged with first-degree murder of mother

Ex-NFL player Sergio Brown, who played high school football at Proviso West in Maywood, has been taken into custody in San Diego after being deported from Mexico, according to authorities involved with the case.

The search for Sergio Brown first began after his brother, Nick, posted to his Instagram account on September 16 to inform the public that he was actively searching for his brother.

Sergio, who played for the NFL, was missing alongside their mother, Myrtle Brown, 73.

“Folks, my mom Myrtle Brown and brother Sergio Brown are missing,” he typed. “I’m not waiting another hour. Please share! If you see them or one of them, please let me or the Maywood Police Office know!!”

Since this story broke, Sergio Brown has posted some cryptic videos and messages across social media thru his verified and burner accounts, which have since been deactivated and taken down.

The videos were posted showing Brown in Mexico making various ranting statements about possible conspiracies involving the FBI & Maywood police in regards to his & his mother's whereabouts.
