Robert Crimo Jr. Pleads Guilty To Counts of Reckless Conduct Gets 60 Days in Lake County jail.

His son, Robert Crimo III is in Lake County jail charged with multiple felonies including murder in relation to the 2022 shooting at the Highland Park July 4th parade that left 7 dead & 48 injured.

Illinois Circuit Court Judge George Strickland sentenced Mr. Crimo to two years of probation and 60 days in custody of the Lake County
sheriff, as well as 100 hours of public service.

Mr. Crimo was also ordered to surrender his firearm owner
identification (FOID) card and any ammunition.

Crimo Jr.'s lawyer told
reporters outside the courtroom that his client had pleaded guilty to
prevent his trial from becoming a "public spectacle" or jeopardizing his
son's case by disclosing key evidence before the younger Crimo's trial.

"It
appeared that, as we got closer to trial, the state's strategy required
pitting Mr. Crimo's family against each other," said the attorney,
George Gomez.

The case against Crimo Jr. marks at least the second
time a parent in the United States has been prosecuted in connection
with crimes allegedly committed by their child. Experts say the guilty
plea could help expand the number of people held liable in future mass
shootings.

This reporter was working as a bartender at the Ravinia Music Festival in July 2022 when the shooting happened and the music venue was shut down for 4 days and had multiple events canceled as a result of the shooting.
