WGN-TV9 is reporting that a non-alcoholic 'euphoric seltzer' made with kava and kratom is allowed to be sold in Illinois, but is illegal in Indiana.

It’s called New Brew, and it is banned in Indiana, but selling in Illinois.

The drink is illegal in Indiana because in Indiana, Kratom is currently banned by law.

The product website says it’s the first non-alcoholic beverage with affects you can feel. It does this with two plants, kava and kratom, that interact with receptors in your brain.

Kava and Kratom have long been used to enhance mental alertness & feelings of calm and happiness. Kava & Kratom are natural roots and herbs with a long history of being used in other countries, but they can be dangerous if consumed in too large a quantity, very much like with caffeine, alcohol, sugar & many other products we consume.

The company,  DrinkNewBrew.com, warns that the product is addictive and should not be consumed every day. They advise to drink in moderation & test for tolerance before moving onto a larger portion size of their drinks.

This reporter knows people from the gym who swear by Kratom, and this reporter has also considered purchasing a Kava product recently.
