WGN-TV9 is reporting that authorities have located the body of a Wisconsin father who went missing on Wednesday night, following a two-day search.
According to New Berlin, WI police, the body of 45-year-old Ben Oberto was located Friday afternoon after authorities found his silver 2019 Subaru Impreza overturned in a creek along the curve of the I90 eastbound ramp to I294 northbound, in Rosemont.
Illinois State Police troopers located the vehicle, which appeared to have crashed into the creek, just before 4 p.m.
RPD divers later located a deceased driver, who was subsequently identified as Oberto, inside the vehicle.
Authorities said Oberto’s vehicle was the only car involved in the crash.
Mr. Oberto’s loved ones became concerned after he failed to return home from work on Wednesday night.
Oberto, a father of two, had last been seen around 8:56 p.m., leaving the 1776 Restaurant in Crystal Lake where he worked as a wine sales representative.
Mr. Oberto’s wife Laura spoke with WGN-9 news on Friday amid the ongoing search and said she had been dreading telling their son about what was going on.
An investigation into the deadly crash is now underway by Illinois State Police. Anyone with any information on the accident or who may have seen anything is asked to contact the Illinois State Police tipline at https://isptips.illinois.gov/
