Wheeling man charged with kidnapping, domestic battery in Palatine

FOX32 is reporting that Boris Zhuravlev of Wheeling has been charged with multiple felonies following an incident that happened on December 8 in Palatine.

According to Palatine police, Zhuravlev, 39, has been charged with kidnapping, aggravated domestic battery, unlawful restraint, and aggravated domestic battery with prior
convictions.

The charges stem from an incident on the morning of Dec. 8 in the 1200 block of Prairie Brook Drive in Palatine.

According to sources, the
victim, who was in a dating relationship with Zhuravlev, sustained
serious injuries during the altercation. Police also subsequently uncovered a history
of prior domestic violence incidents involving Zhuravlev.

Zhuravlev
was arrested on Dec. 11 and appeared in court for a detention hearing
the next day and remains in custody until his next scheduled court
appearance on Jan. 10, 2025.
