On September 20, 2021 at approximately 12:19pm Niles Police received
calls about an armed robbery that had taken place at the Portillos
restaurant located at 8832 W. Dempster, Niles, IL.
Two armed suspects held up the Portillos employees who were handling food orders in the drive thru parking lot.
The suspects got away with two cash belts, each containing approximately $300-$400.
Niles Police were on the scene within 5 minutes, but the suspects had fled the scene by then.
The incident was captured on video by a customer who was in line and posted to Ring shortly thereafter.
The suspects are described as a While male, thin build, wearing a
green-hooded sweatshirt & a Hispanic male, thin build, wearing a
blue-hooded sweatshirt.
