One dead, one in critical after an early morning shooting in Normal

According to local police, one person was killed and another remains hospitalized after a shooting early Sunday in Normal.

The shooting happened near the Illinois State University ( ISU )campus at about 3:42 a.m., police said.

According to police reports, officers were called to the 300 block of North Main to break up a
large party. While there, they heard gunshots and went to the 300 block
of North University Street and found two victims, said Brad Park of the
Normal Police Department.

Police have stated the investigation is early, active & on-going as they search for physical evidence, as well as witnesses and possible video of the crime scene.
