Vilage of Niles Referendum To Divide The Village Into Districts

Within the village of Niles, a referendum to split up the village into 6 districts will be on the ballot.

Currently, the Village has 6 trustees and they all govern the village equally. The referendum seeks to create so-called "Chicago Style" districts, like wards and have people only be able to vote for the trustee within their particular district.

The Mayor of Niles, George Alpogianis has sent a letter opposing such a referendum result from happening.
