One Injured in Shooting On Edens Expressway in Skokie

One person was wounded in an early morning shooting on the Edens Expressway Thursday
morning in north suburban Skokie, creating a significant traffic
disruption as Illinois State Police investigate.

The
shooting happened at approximately 4:30am in the Skokie section of the
Edens Expressway (I-94), south of Old Orchard Road. The victim was not
injured seriously and was taken to Skokie Hospital with non-life
threatening injuries.

Traffic was being re-routed from the scene
at Old Orchard and the Old Orchard entrance was closed, but as of
6:40am, all lanes were re-opened to traffic.

Illinois State Police continue to investigate.
