July 4th Storms Cause Damage To Local Trees As The Storm Rolled in Late Monday Night across the Chicago area.
Monsoon style rains, lightening and thunder caused flash flooding and knocked down trees and caused power outages in the area.
Many Niles residents lost power, as well as some in Morton Grove and the surrounding communities as the deluge of rain came down as July 4th festivities were winding down.
Milwaukee avenue had flash flooding where vehicles had to move over away from the sidewalks and storm drains to avoid the water that had quickly built up on the road as well.
Many local streets were littered with tree branches and limbs which were knocked down during the intense lightening storm that blanketed the area late Monday night into early Tuesday morning, and also knocked power out to several thousand ComEd customers for up to 3 hours.
