Carjacking Near SuperDawg at Milwaukee, Devon & Nagle Leves Man in Critical Condition

A 40-year old man was shot in a carjacking in Norwood park Sunday night, Chicago police have confirmed. A man was walking back to his white Range Rover when an individual demanded his keys. The driver refused and was shot twice, in the arm and chest, police said.The victim was transported to Lutheran General Hospital in critical condition Sunday night.There was an armed carjacking near SuperDawg at Milwaukee & Devon Sunday Night. The carjacking allegedly took place at the gas station on the corner of Milwaukee and Nagle, right next to the famous hot dog stand, SuperDawg.Chicago Police are investigating an alleged attempted carjacking at Milwaukee, Devon & Nagle, right by the famous hot dog stand, SuperDawg and across from Dunkin Donuts, Jewel and many other stores and a restaurant.The call about this came over the Police Scanner App, #ChicagoScanner. 16th & 17 District Chicago Police Department also gave notification of the alleged attempted carjacking at the location.The story also broke on the Nextdoor app where neighbors can share, post and comment on matters.This reporter and his assistant were on the scene within 45 minutes of hearing of the shooting on Nextdoor and #ChicagoScanner applications. Pics and videos were taken of the scene, showing multiple Chicago Chicago Police CPD vehicles and police present. Chicago Police personnel were witnessed canvassing the area for evidence including shell casings from the alleged shooting. No further details were available as CPD was not willing to talk and divulge further information to this reporter at the time, on the scene Sunday night. Communication was received from this reporter's CPD contacts and they verified the basic tenants of the story that an alleged armed carjacking took place, no injuries were reported at the time.This is the second armed incident within the past two weeks within the general location. Two weeks ago, armed individuals held up, at gun point, two Portillo's employees who were working the parking lot drive thru during the lunch break rush at the Portillo's on Dempster in Niles, not far from Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
