Maine East Social Media Threat Follow Up

A recent social media threat was posted where a juvenile posted hateful and threatening messages towards Maine East and its students. Apparently a threat of violence was made and school security was at a heightened level this past Monday.

According to a press release by the principal of Maine East, Park Ridge police were able to identify & take into custody the juvenile who allegedly posted the allegedly hateful and threatening social media posts.

The threat was taken seriously and the Police and school took appropriate actions to secure the school's safely as well as locate the alleged offender.

The juvenile's name is of course not public and will be adjudicated through the juvenile justice system. The investigation has been completed and no additional threat is currently active towards Maine East, its students or staff.
